Our Story
Premier Sports Academy was founded by former collegiate and professional players who believed there was a better way to develop the next generation of baseball & softball talent — one built on real data, real coaching, and real accountability.
What started as a single hitting lab has grown into a 26,000 square-foot indoor academy serving hundreds of athletes from across the St. Louis region. Today, Premier is home to elite travel teams, individual instruction, recruiting support, and the kind of training environment serious players need to compete at the highest levels.
Over 120+ of our athletes have committed to play at the collegiate level since 2021. Hundreds more train here every week, building the skills, the metrics, and the mental edge it takes to get there.

The Man Behind The Mission
Matt Meier founded Premier Sports Academy in 2020 with a simple idea: every serious baseball and softball player in the Midwest deserves access to the same measurable, college-level development he spent two decades inside of himself — not just the ones who happen to land on the right high-school team.
A Francis Howell North graduate, Matt went on to become a Lindenwood University Baseball alumnus (2012–2025) and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 30th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. That combination of local roots and pro-level exposure still shapes how Premier develops athletes today.
At Lindenwood, Matt has worn nearly every hat a program can ask of a coach — Pitching Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Director of Operations, and Director of Analytics — building the kind of data-driven, recruiting-forward approach that now anchors Premier's baseball and softball programs.
On the international side, Matt previously served as Director of Recruiting for Team Italy, helping bridge the gap for European baseball and softball athletes looking to compete in the United States. That role put him alongside names like Mike Piazza and Hall of Fame softball coach Mike Candrea, and had him working with USA Baseball and the national programs on both sides of the sport.
Across North America, Matt also partnered with some of the top developmental leagues in Canada — the CPBL, the PBLO, and the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League — creating additional runway for athletes to be seen by college and pro evaluators.
The result of all of it: 500+ athletes moved on to play college baseball and softball under Matt's direct development and recruiting support. Premier Sports Academy is the St. Louis home of that same system.
